Research is centered on the area of Computational Biology and Medicine. Dr. Clark's Laboratory develops detailed mechanistic models of biological processes on several levels of scale: from molecular, cellular and tissue modeling to the development of interactive multiple-organ system models. Examples of cellular models include cardiac cell and neuron modeling with mechanistic ion channel descriptions and modulation via second messengers. At the multiple-organ level, development of large-scale models of the cardiovascular and pulmonary systems, as they interact and are controlled by the central nervous system. |
